Aaron Leatherbarrow

I was 14. I found a cassette tape called Pokinatcha by MXPX in a Christian book store in Cincinnati, OH. I found hope that day. I was constantly oppressed by religion, right wings, and suburbia. This was my chance; my way out. I soon found Ghoti Hook, Value Pac, and Slick Shoes, and a new addiction. I started my first punk band when I was 15 and knew that this was what I wanted to do with my life. Though I took about 20 years off to start and raise a family, I could not let it go. I started my second punk band “Cassette Crisis” in Jacksonville, Fl. when I was 38 years old. Punk Rock was always the one area of my life that saw me as I was, and embraced me. As a 40 year old man, TikTok influencer, and English teacher; the one thing that will always be the backbone of who I am, is Punk Rock. This is why I am the @punkrockteacher, and this is why I owe my life to the raw rebellious energy that came from the hope I found that day when I was 14.
